MAGIC FRUIT SURPRISE CAKE

1 (9-oz.) package Borden's None Such Mince Meat
1/2 cup water
1 cup walnut meats, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup mixed candied fruit, coarsely chopped
1 1/3 cups (one 15-oz. can) Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Break mince meat into small pieces and put 2-quart saucepan. Add water. Place over heat, stir until lumps are thoroughly broken. Boil briskly one minute. stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Cool.
Add nuts, candied fruit, Eagle Brand, and egg; blend well. Stir in flour and baking soda, until just blended.
Pour mixture into a 9 x 4 x 3-inch loaf pan which is greased, waxed paper lined and greased again.
Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F) 1 hour and 30 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched and top is golden brown.
