Recipe(tried): Steamed Shrimp

Hi Jody,

I'm also a Yankee and have always cooked shrimp from the recipe on the can of "Old Bay" seasoning. Here it is:
Steamed Shrimp
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp. Old Bay Seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. shrimp

In saucepan combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Add shrimp, stir gently. Cover, steam until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain, remove shells and vein on back.

This is off the can of "Cheasapeake Bay Style Seafood Seasoning" (McCormick).

Boiled Shrimp

Wash 1 lb. shrimp and place in saucepan. Combine 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup water, 1 tbsp. Seafood Seasoning and 2 tsp. salt. Pour over shrimp and bring ot a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes or until shrimp turn pink, stirring once. Drain, cool, remove shells and devein.

I always use the one off the Old Bay. Hope this helps.
