I made this last night for dinner, and it was, as it always has been, a hit.
This makes four servings, however it is easily doubled, even tripled.
1 lb. ground beef - browned and drained
7 oz. spaghetti
2 small cans tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
Garlic powder to taste
Onion powder to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large skillet combine the ground beef, tomato sauce and paste, seasoning, and 3 tomato sauce cans full of water. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add the dried pasta (break into smaller pieces if need be). Add another can or two of water. Adjust seasoning. Simmer another 20 minutes until sauce is nice and thick and pasta is done to taste.
My family can't east onions or peppers, however these could easily be added. Just cook the onions and minced bell pepper with the ground beef.
With my local prices, this ends up being $.61 per serving. Throw in some garlic bread and a green salad and it ends up being $.75 per serving.
