SWEET BUTTER BREAD

"It is so easy to make and even better to eat. Have lots of butter ready to enjoy with this bread. It also makes great French toast."

3 1/3 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 egg, room temperature
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup milk, room temperature
1/3 cup water, room temperature

Put all dry ingredients in bowl of mixer and mix with flat beater for 30 seconds. Add egg and butter; mix another 30 seconds.

Change to dough hook. Add milk and 1/3 cup water slowly until a dough ball forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead for 2-4 minutes. Place in oiled bowl and let rise until doubled.

Punch down, knead lightly, shape and put into bread pan. Allow to rise until about an inch above the edge of the pan.

Bake in 350 degree F oven for 30 minutes. Cover top last 10 minutes to prevent over browning.

Makes 1 (1 1/2 pound) loaf
