TEA RING
Dawn.ny (10:39:34 AM) :
2 1/2 cups warm water
2 pkgs. yeast
1 regular (2-layer size) basic yellow cake mix (not pudding)
4 1/2 to 5 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add cake mix and flour. Knead dough well. Let rise until doubled. Divide dough in half. Roll each section separately into a
rectangle. Spread with melted butter, sugar and cinnamon as with any cinnamon roll recipe. Roll like a jelly roll. Twist and form into two coffee rings on large greased baking sheets.
Slice tops of rings to lay open to show cinnamon and sugar. Let rise until doubled in bulk. Bake 20 minutes at 350 or until edges are slightly brown. Frost immediately with powdered sugar glaze. Decorate with maraschino cherries or pecan halves.
These can also be cut into cinnamon rolls. For one tea ring, use one Jiffy yellow cake mix and half the water, yeast and flour.
