THE DEPOT CHERRY COBBLER
4 ounces butter
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cans (20 oz each) cherry pie filling
In 325 degree F oven, melt butter in 9x13 pan.
In bowl, mix flour and sugar, and stir in milk until blended. When butter is melted, remove pan from oven and pour batter into butter. DO NOT STIR. Gently spoon pie filling into batter.
Bake at 325 degrees about 45 minutes. Serves 10 to 12

The last train ran in 1955. The depot was bought by the City of Flemingsburg in 1978 and restored. It was placed on the National Register in 1985. It opened as a restaurant in 1984, and since 1986 has been operated by the Farris'."
