I can,t remember wher I got this rec from,but it was so good wonderful on a cold night,the garlic bread roll rec I,ve had for ages and when you start eating them you can,t stop!!!!!!!!

Jalape o Corn Chowder

4 ounces (1 stick) margarine
1 small onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 tablespoon chopped jalape o
1 pinch black pepper
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 pinch thyme
1 16-oz. can of corn, drained (reserve the juice)
Saut the above ingredients on low heat for 10 minutes, then add:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
Cook on low for 5 minutes; then add:
4 cups chicken broth
1 16-oz. can creamed corn
Reserved juice from the can of corn
1/8 cup jalape o juice (taken from a jar of peppers)
Milk, as needed for consistency
Bring to a boil, stirring frequently with a whisk. When the mixture starts to thicken, slowly add small amounts of milk to correct the consistency, being careful not to add too much. Let simmer for 15 minutes on low flame. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Add more cayenne pepper to taste.
Serves: 4
This is,t too hot my kids handled it well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!In fact my eldest son had 2 helpings

Garlic Bread

Sauce:
180ml (3/4 cup) butter, melted
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
25ml (5tsp) fresh parsley, chopped
10ml (2tsp) dry mixed herbs
Bread:
2 extra large eggs
25ml (5tsp) oil
500ml (2cups) lukewarm water
60ml (1/4cup) sugar
1 packet (10g) instant dry yeast
1 clove garlic, crushed
pinch of ginger
5X250ml (5cups) cake flour
Preheat oven 190 C (375F) Spray cake tin 23cm diameter with spray 'n cook. Mix all ingredients for sauce in a pot & heat on stove until butter is melted. Set aside & leave to cool.
Beat eggs, oil, water & sugar. Mix rest of ingredients in mixing bowl. Add water mixture & mix until it is a soft dough. Knead dough about 10 min. Cover with plastic & leave to rise until double in bulk. (About 1 hour)
Divide dough into 12 equal size pieces. Roll into balls & roll each ball in melted butter mixture of sauce & place in cake tin. Bake 35-40 mins or until done & golden brown on top.
