CHEESY PASTA SQUARES
FOR THE PASTA SQUARES:
7 oz. spaghetti or 4 cups green noodles, cooked, drained
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup (2 oz.) Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided use
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups (8 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
FOR THE SAUCE:
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup chopped zucchini
1 cup chopped tomato
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
TO MAKE THE PASTA SQUARES:
Combine spaghetti, eggs, 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese and salt. In greased 11 3/4 x 7 1/2-inch baking dish, layer half of noodle mixture and mozzarella cheese; repeat layers.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
TO MAKE THE SAUCE:
Brown meat; drain; set aside.
Make a white sauce with margarine, flour and milk. (Melt margarine, whisk in flour until smooth. Slowly whisk in milk; cook over medium heat until thickened.)
Add meat, zucchini, tomato, remaining parmesan cheese and seasonings; heat thoroughly.
TO SERVE:
Cut noodle mixture into squares; serve with sauce.
Makes 8 servings
