Recipe: Walnut Supreme Cookies

WALNUT SUPREME COOKIES

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup margarine, softened
3 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

Cream sugars, shortening, and eggs together; set aside.

Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Fold in chopped nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Variation: After cooling, cookies may be frosted with a butter frosting.

Here is a basic recipe using walnuts. Please share any other details you have about the recipe and we'll try to find it or one that's close. Were they drop cookies, rolled, sliced. Any other additions - dried fruit, chocolate chips, etc.? Were they frosted or dipped in sugar?
