Recipe: Watermelon Sorbet in Lime Boats (blender and ice cream machine)

WATERMELON SORBET IN LIME BOATS

FOR THE SORBET:
1 small watermelon
1 quart simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water heated until the sugar dissolves)
Juice of 2 lemons
FOR TO LIME BOATS:
5 limes
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
10 mint leaves

TO MAKE THE SORBET:
Remove rind and seeds from watermelon. Puree pulp in a blender and strain it. Add lemon juice and enough simple syrup to sweeten.

Freeze in an ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's instructions.

TO MAKE THE LIME BOATS:
Slice limes in half lengthwise and remove inner pulp. Sprinkle cavities with sugar. Fill with watermelon sorbet. Sprinkle tops with black sesame seeds and garnish with mint leaves.

Makes 10 servings
