Recipe: White Chocolate-Peppermint Swizzle Sticks

Holidays, Celebrations
WHITE CHOCOLATE-PEPPERMINT SWIZZLE STICKS

12 peppermint candy canes, about 5-inches long and individually wrapped
1 empty baby food jar
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
2 tsp vegetable oil
red and/or green sugar crystals
silver dragees (if desired but won't melt)

Snip wrapper end off bottom of each candy cane and push back to expose 1 1/2-inches of the candy.

Pur hot water in a saucepan to a depth of 3/4-inch.

Fill baby food jar with chocolate chips and oil and set jar in saucepan. Don't let any water get into chocolate mixture or will be ruined. Heat on low - takes about 8 minutes to get chocolate to melt, stir with small knife to ensure all melted and combined with oil.

Dip the exposed candy cane into chocolate coating well. Lift cane immediately out of the chocolate and roll in coloured sugar crystals or silver dragees. Put in a coffee mug upside down to harden, can put in fridge to speed up process in ten minutes.

To serve in coffee or hot chocolate peel off remaining wrapper and place in cup.

I am trying these for the first time as part of my cookie exchange item so I hope they are yummy.
