Here are more e-mail requests that I'm hoping you can help find the answers to. I appreciate your help and hope you find the questions and answering interesting too. Please title your replies with the name of the recipe or info you're posting so they will be easier to find.

A BIG THANK YOU in advance from me and on behalf of everyone requesting info and recipes!

While planning our vacation to Zion's, my mom told us the story of how
the bumbleberry pie came to be. We were looking forward to trying the pie
that my mom raved about. When we went to buy some pies we were told that they
had to be reserved, and that we could pick them up after 9 am the following
day. On the way home at about noon, we stopped at the Inn to pick up our
pies, but to our disappointment only one pie was done. The young man at the
register said it would be at least 40 minutes before another pie would be
ready. We were driving with a group of people and regrettably could not wait
for the pie to be done.
We would love to be able to get a pie, is there any way that a pie could
be ordered through the mail?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, Rahnny

I was wondering if you had copies of : The Duncan Hines Dessert Cookbook,
which would have been published sometime in the 60's and is paperback and The
Better Homes and Gardens Bread cookbook published also about the same time.
Thank you Ginger

I have started collecting these books but do not know when the first one was
issued. Can you tell me. No one else seems to know.

Also, I found another series of books from Southern Living/Progressive
Farmer. The ones I found were: The Poultry Cookbook, The Meats Cookbook and
The Dessert Cookbook. Do you by any chance know how many books were in this
series and what they were?

I have tried to e-mail Southern Living from their home page but the message
always comes back undelivered.

Thanks in advance for your help...Brenda

Love your website, but so far have zero results looking for a recipe for
something like Kentucky Fried Chicken's fried chicken livers (I know, but
my family loves them, and it's the only way they'll eat liver). Also, I'm
searching for a recipe for onion rings that are thin and crunchy, not the
traditional fat ones. We had these at the Silverado Restaurant in
Calistoga, CA and they are addictive! Any suggestions? I'll buy a book if
needed. Thanks so much! Lori

when I was a kid, my mom had a cookbook that was two books in one. The
first side was egg recipies containing yolks and the chapters were
listed by the number of yolks (1 yolk, two yolks etc..). If you flipped
the book over it had the same thing with egg whites. I think it might
have been called The egg cookbook or one side might have been the egg
yolk cookbook and the other side the egg white cookbook or something
like that but I have been looking for a copy for the past twelve years.
Can you help?

I need to bake my own bread because of celiac disease (no wheat, rye, barley
or oats). What can I add to the bread to make it stay fresher longer, like
bread on the supermarket shelves? I don't like to freeze or refrigerate it.
Store breads list something called calcium propionate. Can I use it?
Where do I get it and how much do I use?

I appreciate what you did by looking up the recipe for "Chinese noodle
cake" that I requested. Looking at the recipe, it is not what I wanted.
This is a pastry. Its like a "rice krispie cake". (not really, but when
it was cut it was firm and you could hold it in your hand and eat it.
Aparently it's supposed to be an old recipe because I asked some young
chinese ladies if they knew how to make it and they told me it was an older
generation recipe. (figure it out - I'm 52)

Do you have any idea where I can find Chinese pastries? They are
delicious.

Again, thanking you in advance. ....... Flo
