ISO: butternut squash soup

Misc.
I have always so loved butternut soup - does anyone have a hint on how to easily peel on of these buggers. This squash is so hard it if difficult and can be dangerous trying to cut through it. Should I throw it in boiling water for a while maybe to soften the outside.
