ISO: Green Peas and Dumplings - Looking for old timey country folk

I forgot how to cook country, so please help. I have been away to a far land of Kansas. Green peas with dumplings is an old country recipe that I have cooked often, but something is off. What am I doing wrong? Know what I mean? There is a creamy sauce and green peas and dumplings, but I have forgotton how to put it together. Thanks muchly
