ISO: Green Sauce for Chiles Rellenos

I am looking for a green sauce to put on chiles rellenos. We have a fantastic little restaurant nearby. The woman puts a lovely, warm green sauce on the chiles rellenos and she won't tell anyone what is in it. It is not chunky; it's pureed and it is not thick. Also, it is not tart, so I am guessing that that it is not made from tomatillos. No tomatillo seeds are visible in it either. My husband and I swoon over this sauce and scrape up every last drop with our spoons. Does anyone out there have any ideas? I would be most appreciative. Thank you!
