ISO: Mazurek or Mazurkas

Misc.
Hello everyone,

I am searching for a recipe for what I believe is called either Mazurkas or Mazurek. I see that there are some recipes on this board but I am not sure if they are the same thing.

There is a polish market near my home that has some bakery stands with all of the traditional easter breads and pastries. I bought one on Saturday, which consists of layers of yellow cake or sponge cake. Then between these layers are apricot and raspberry or strawberry preserves. It actually goes like this: cake, apricot preserves, cake, raspberry preserves, cake then on top is raspberry preserves. Then to top it off there is cake that has been piped on top and baked to a golden brown. The whole thing is about 4"x8".

I would really like to make these for easter, since it would be expensive to purchase them. The one I bought was $8, and it didn't last long.

If anyone has a recipe for this, I would love it!

Thanks a lot.
