ISO: Meals for Mom and a group of 10

My mother has just come home from the hospital after having abdominal surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. I'm trying to help out by providing meals. I need lots of inexpensive ideas that will serve 10 (this includes my own family and the family that still lives with mom). Mom's only dietary limit is sugar (she's also diabietic.) I would especially appreciate recipes for summertime using cooking methods that won't heat up my kitchen too much, that are easy to prepare, and don't require a lot of preparation time. I know that's alot to ask, but I'm hoping you can help me out. Thank you.
