ISO: moist oatmeal cake with brown sugar-lemon juice topping (1970's)

I'm searching for a recipe that an Air Force friend (Susan & Peter from California) gave me in 1974 while in Okinawa. It was a moist oatmeal cake. The topping was put on after baking the cake and was done by pricking the top of the cake with a fork, sprinkling brown sugar on top, and then drizzling on lemon juice.

The cake itself had oatmeal, cinnamon, and brown sugar in it, & possibly applesauce. You couldn't make it on high humidity days.
