ISO: Silent friend's mushrooms

Hello all!...I found your board a week ago...was thrilled to see so many "chefs" out there...I requested a copy cat recipe and received no response...no problem!! I wager that someone will come up with it one day...My current dilemma is about mushrooms...Had dinner at a friends house and she served mushrooms that were scrumptious...sweet, but not overly sweet and slightly salty...my problem is she won't divulge her recipe...:(..I have experimented with soy sauce, sweet vermouth, sugar...can't duplicate the taste...I was hoping someone would have a suggestion??!! Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks and I'm soooo glad I found this place!!
