Recipe: Meat and Potato Pie (using ground beef and instant mashed potatoes, 1970's)

1 pound ground beef
2 slices soft bread, torn into pieces
2/3 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/4 tsp. salt
Potato Buds mashed potatoes (enough for 4 servings)
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix ground beef, bread, milk, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and salt; spread evenly in an ungreased 9-inch pie plate.
Bake until done, about 35-40 minutes.
Prepare mashed potatoes as directed on package for 4 servings; set aside.
Drain excess fat from meat loaf. Mound potatoes on top, spreading to edge. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake until cheese melts, 3-4 minutes.
Makes 4-5 servings
