ISO: What is PEP?
Misc.I'm transcribing some of my mother's and grandmother's heirloom recipes and have come across an ingredient that I'm NOT familiar with: PEP.
One recipe is for Peanut Butter Chews and calls for 'enough Pep to make a thick mixture'. It also references 'pressing the mixture into a Pep lined square 8x8 pan.
'Pep' always appears with the first letter capitalized.
Can anyone identify this heirloom ingredient?
Thanks!
Debbie
