BRAISED PORK CHOPS
8 pork chops
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sherry
1/2 clove garlic, minced
3 slices fresh gingerroot, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 green onions, cut in 1-inch pieces
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
8 whole black peppercorns
Remove bone from pork chops. Mix soy sauce, sherry, garlic and ginger and marinate pork meat in this mixture 30 minutes.
Drain and fry slowly In oil until golden brown.
Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chops. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Makes 4 servings
