ISO: would it turn out if I put crushed peppermint candy in fudge

I want to make peppermint candy fudge, My recipe that I usually use uses white or chocolate chips and marshmellow cream, Im just wondering if I crushed the candy canes and added them to the fudge it it would work, I dont want to have hard pieces of candy in my fudge. Has anyone out there ever made peppermint candy fudge like this? Linda
