Thank You: portugese bean soup--suggestion

just a suggestion from a portugese bean soup enthusiast--try adding ham hocks (or ham shanks) to the recipe. Best way to add the hocks would be to boil the hocks for approx. 1 1/2 hours alongside the beans(if using dried beans) then combine the beans and hocks and then follow the recipe as usual.
