Recipe(tried): Corn Chowder

Soups

Here is my favorite recipe for "chowdah". Server with crackers or homemade bread.

Corn Chowder

1 medium onion chopped
1 small green pepper chopped
2 16 oz can cream style corn
2 16 oz cans whole kernal corn drained
1 16 oz can evaporated milk
2 cups milk
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2" cubes

Brown onions and peppers in oil. Add potatoes and cover with water. Boil until potatoes are slightly soft. Do not drain. Add corn. Simmer 10 minutes. Add milks and simmer 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately or refrigerate to allow flavors to mellow. Heat before serving.
Note: Amounts of corn and potatoes can be adjusted to individual taste
