Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. I finally bit the bullet and tried making a 1 1/2 pound loaf following a recipe from the new model breadmaker instruction booklet. It turned out perfectly! Which means my older model makes both
1 1/2 lb. and 1 lb. loaves. I've since made a second loaf (cinnamon-raisin--YUM!) and have been collecting new recipes like crazy. If I'd known how great these machines are, I'd have gotten one years ago!
