Thank You: Thanks Betsy & Meg! Here is what we had...
Misc. I started with a Thai Beer. Then for appetizer had their hot & sour soup with tofu. It was spicy (one star) with strong lemongrass tartness against the hot ness of the broth. For my main course, I had Drunken noodles (again, one star because I am a chicken) This had large shrimp mixed veggies a sprinkling of fresh bean sprouts and a little bit of ground peanuts. It was hot but you coulnd still taste all the different flavors. Jeff had the Thai Wonton soup. It was very similar in flavor to Chinese Wonton soup. Very mild. He also had crispy noodle salad with some kind of ground pork mixture on top. This dish was a sweet and sour one I think...(he only let me have one bite!) For his main course, he had Five Sisters, which is lobster, shrimp, fish, scallop on a bed of mussels. It was in a red curry sauce (2 stars although he thought he could handle 3) This dish was superb! Once the initial shock of the fiery hotness wore off the individual flavors of the fish and the spices that make up the curry could be distinguished. It was probably one of the most adventurous and rewarding dining experiences we have ever had. Our waitress was a very shy native Thailander who did not say much but smiled prettily. If anyone is in Freeport to shop at LL Bean this winter, I would recommend trying this hole in the wall restaurant. They pride themselves on being authentic. The portions are generous and the ingrediants VERY fresh. I won't offer the name here because I am not sure of Betsy's policy on that sort of thing, but I will say that you will easily find it because there are no other Thai restaurants in Freeport and it is right on Route 1.
