Best Apples for pies........

I agree with everything you say June although I have never tried tapioca. Spies (yes, hard to find)are found mostly in Ontario, Canada that I know of. I go there for mine. I have never tried Macs in a pie (great for applesauce but don't add water...slow cook. Semi-firm, tart apples for pies! Best recipe is in "Better Homes and Gardens, Pie Cookbook. Their Blueberry Pie is also the best. I get raves for both of them. Judy
