ISO: re: Best Apples for Pie - Shawna, WA

Hi Shawna:-) I seem to remember my mother sprinkling about a teaspoon of water over the apple filling before putting on the top crust. If I remember correctly, she said it gave a bit of extra steam to help the apples cook. This might be something for you to try and might help with the problem you are having with your apple pies.
