Gina, a hard week for all Americans!

I feel like the country has lost a great deal by losing John Jr. However, my daughter, who at times is much wiser than I am, tried to console me and tell me that it was John's time to go. My questions were: why didn't they just drive to Martha's Vineyard-New York is not that far away! Another question was, why didn't they just take a commercial flight to Massachusetts. Another of my unanswerable questions was, why, oh why, didn't he have an experienced co-pilot with him. Another stupid question that I have asked was why didn't they just wait to go to Martha's Vineyard on Saturday morning.

It has been such a tragic week for our country. I don't know how the Kennedys and the Bessettes feel, but I can imagine. My heart goes out to both families, especially the Bessettes for losing their two beautiful daughters.

I'll just have to accept that it was God's will for this to happen to them.
