How could any gathering be "the same" without your presence? I'm sure that your friends were excited to see you after so many months.

Believe me, Gladys, I know what it is like to lose one's parents. I remember after my mama died, June 8, 1992, it was though a dark cloud had descended on me. It lasted for a very long time. To compound the grief, my dad died on
Sept. 2, 1992. I walked around feeling as though I had been punched in the stomach.

I went to my pastor and he helped me a great deal. He helped me to see that there were still things that I had to do and only I could do them. Everyone has a purpose in this world.

Even though our dear ones have gone on, we still have to breathe, work, live, and function. It isn't the same. It will never be the same. You can be happy again but it is going to take time.

However, I believe that both my mother and my father went to heaven so I will have to meet them there.

As long as we are alive, Gladys, we will always have memories of our sweet departed loved ones.
