Hello Manyhats....

Misc.
Hello Manyhats,

Sorry to say but the Tampa Tribune's Food section is a BIG disappointment to me. I would venture to say that the VERY BEST food section category belongs to The Miami Herald which is printed on Sunday and you can get on-line.

Their section, by far, contains wonderful recipes, menus and columns. I look forward to reading it very Sunday.

And yes, you are absolutely correct to say I am in the cradle of veggie land. Right now, there is an abundance of corn, and summer squashes. Close to me up on Hywy. 92, there is a produce place called Parkland's. In strawberry season, they sell superb strawberry shortcakes, shakes and cookies. The season runs roughly between January and May, give or take a few weeks depending on the berries. But they are open all year long and have the best produce and the prices can't be beat. They sell celery for 99 cents where the grocers sell it for 1.89. Squash and zucchini for 69 cents/lb. Just great produce and prices....
