Hi Lisa, David, meat jelly is..............

Misc.

That brown jelly like stuff at the bottom of the dripping pot, after a roast dinner. We remove the fat from the pot, after it has set hard, then spread some of this jelly-like stuff (for want of its proper name) onto bread, butter and vegemite. Yum. Most times though, I use it to make the gravy, so I don't get it very often.
Thanks Lisa, for helping me explain what vegemite is to David. I had forgotten about Marmite. Master Foods here also have a similar product out, called Promite, but the flavour is entirely different. Same colour though.
When my three boys were small, the two elder ones prefered Vegemite, the younger one, also a David, liked Promite, and yours truly had Marmite, so we had all three in the house. Down here we import Marmite from N.Z.
My second son, Peter, has visited your country twice now, stayed with his cousin Anne in Bournemouth, both times. He says that your marmite and ours are different in taste and spreadability. I am now wondering, just how many 'secret' recipes there are flying around!! LOL Angel
