I confess, that I had never heard of Numete, Debbie, Troy

My two girls were vegetarians for a number of years - in fact just within about the last year started eating chicken again because they were concerned (me, too) that they weren't getting enough protein. My youngest daughter went to school in London and, there, discovered, Quorn products which she really liked. They are now available, here, in western MA at most of our regular grocery stores, and, of course, Whole Foods. See if you can find them. They are a mushroom based product but were panned by many of the large newspapers here in the U.S. because they are "fungus" based. In reality, aren't mushrooms a fungus? And, Qoorn products have been used in Europe for about 20 years with no "ill effects!" I hope this information will help you find a replacement for numete, Debbie.
