I bought the Cracker Barrel Fried Apples at the Cracker Barrel store. If you try this adapted recipe, it tastes so much like the C.B. kind. These apples are wonderful when warmed and poured over vanilla ice cream. It tastes so much like the C.B. apple dumpling--without the pastry.
