Julie, so glad to hear that your
Misc.family is enjoying some of my recipes. The Cherry Hazelnut Bread was and is
actually a Cherry Pecan Bread. It is really delicious! I don't bake the loaves
of bread around here as my plate is overflowing with other responsibilities.
One of the monks usually bakes 20 to 30 loaves a week. He's been studying and
practicing for 2 1/2 years now and he has gotten exceptionally good. I will
include a couple of his original recipes in my book.
The Cherry Pecan Bread is from the "Bread Alone" cookbook. Bread Alone is a
bakerey that is actually an institution around here and even in New York City.
They use brick ovens and make the European-style bread. Entsu has managed to
do quite well imitating some of their breads in our normal oven. I will get the
recipe for you and I'll post it on the baker's board. It may take a few days
though. Gotta run. Be well.
And thanks for the Carrot Cashew Soup - sounds like a great combination!
