Oh Molly !!....... Can I come toooooo.

Misc.

G'day Molly, The tea is always drunk hot. Provide sugar, milk and lemon slices. Another thing eaten in great quantities are prawns, (shrimps) either cooked inside the house or outside on the barbie, and other seafood, such as crayfish and Morton Bay Bugs.
Steph mentioned the fish and chips, this is also a favourite. Australia, like America, is a very cosmopolitan country and a lot of the ethnic foods from Europe and Asia have crept into our lifestyle. Kebabs, with chunks of meat, pineapple, capsicums, onions etc are popular also. In the salad line, tossed salad; potato salad made either with mayonnaise or oil and vinegar; apple and celery salad, and of course, coleslaw!
Afternoon teas usually consist of tea or coffee, cakes, biscuits and scones with strawberry jam and whipped cream.
Marla was telling me that lamb is very expensive over there, is it like this all the time, or only at certain times of the year. Down here it is a fairly cheap meat and eaten a lot. Roast leg of lamb with mint sauce on sundays is almost traditional. Glad to hear the event is not until your spring, gives us, down here, plenty of time to get our thinking-caps on and come up with a few more ideas for your friend. Your friend Angel. O:-)
