Patty, cleaning wood burning stove....

Hi Patty,
We've burned wood in wood stoves for as long as I can remember. I love their warmth!
Any thing you put on your stove to polish it up is going to smoke when you start the stove up. Also, the like new look will probebly only last for one season.
I usually just use cooking oil to polish it up because then I know what kind of fumes are going into my house.
My DH does polish the pipes w/stove polish every few years though.
We've had lots of snow and rain and ice here too. YUCK!
