I'm not Ellen, but here is how the recipe instructions for the milk should read:
Stir in 2 1/2 cups of the milk; cook till mixture is hot. In bowl beat eggs with remaining 1/2 cup milk.

Your recipe for the cocada pudding seems to have an error with the milk. The recipe calls for 3 cups of milk, yet in the directions it totals 4-1/2 cups. Would you please clarify?
