I also have the G.F. grill and I recommend it 100%!!!!!!! I tried a Hamilton Beach grill and took it back the same day. The heating coil was not in the open but the darn thing splattered all over as it was cooking. It had so much greasy steam coming off of it that I didn't think I would ever get my kitchen clean! I love the G.F. because IT DOES NOT SPLATTER!! It is so much faster than the other indoor grills and it does clean very easy just as Elly says. That is just the way I clean mine also. I was in Sears Friday and saw a G.F. for 60.00 and it was a new style as it had a built-in warmer on top of the lid. it was just a clear plastic lid that opened up on top of the regular lid.
