Re: Proofing yeast

Teri- Are you adding a little sugar to the warm water you are proofing your
yeast in? Remember that yeast has to have something sweet (ie:sugar, honey,
molasses) in order to "work". If you aren't adding any sugar your yeast won't
foam up. Also, I think I saw somewhere on the Kitchenlink that to get chewy
pizza dough like the pizzaria kind you add baking powder and yeast to the
dough. Try looking in Copycat Central for Pizza Hut pizza crust. That may be
where I saw it.
