Re: Recipe-Keepers Anon.
Misc.Hi, fellow addicts! I too am a long-time member of Recipe Keepers Anonomyous. I have a collection of more than 300 cookbooks (including pamphlets -- don't ever sneer at THOSE)! Also at least a dozen overstuffed file folders that I am going to sort out and attach to file cards some day -- HAH!!
Several of my cherished books are antique and falling apart. My cherished one is my mother's first cookbook filled with her notes and comments and spattered with the residue of millions of meals. The most-spattered pages are the best recipes. At lot of the books go back to the turn of the (last) century and some have you test the hotness of the oven by placing a sheet of stationery in the oven and timing it to see when it turns brown!
