The Buena Vista Social Club

Misc.
The Buena vista Social Club was a very famous dancing Club in la Habana. But it is also the name of this group of very old gentlemen, famous musicians from the Golden Era of Cuba, which were members of the Sonora Matancera, Trio Matamoros and other famous music orchestras of Cuba, from the 50th and early 60th. They formed a group with a very young boy wich is a genious in percussions, and with several representatives of the younger generation of Cuban musicians. They were candidates for the Grammy Award for best Album, and they were dressed in their best finery giving the message that Cuban style, flair and tradition is still alive.

The group has several CD's and all of them are hits in Puerto Rico, Latin America and Europe. Now, also in the States. How do I now about this? I love music almost as much as cooking and I am 55 years old, so I had the honor of growing up with that gifted generation. If you buy the CD for your mother, she will love it. And probably you will also enjoy it, because tropical music is in our blood.

Your friend,

Gladys
