Tks. dear Melissa! I must say that

Misc.
I was 28 years old when my first sugar blood count gave 129. Now, I am 56 going on 57 on November and I have never gone upward from 120. As I have a natural tendency towards obesity (all my family) I take good care to at least maintain my weight in a normal weight for us latins. For example, I am 5.6 Ft and I move from 150 to 185. If I go up from 185 I inmediately begin a diet. Here in the tropics we are blessed with fruits and root vegetables and whenever my weight (and as a result my blood sugar) goes up I instantly become a moderate vegetarian. I keep myself completely away from ice cream and cakes. In some special occassions a little bit. But beleive me, no matter how many years have passed I always crave for sweets. As my favorite pastime is cooking, I try to focus on main dishes with a healthy twist. Nevertheless, as our food is naturally rich, I conveniently moderate my portions, for my weight problem, but in reality, what I am doing is taking care of my potential diabetes. This works for me! But remember that as soon as my pancreas begin requesting medicine for the diabetes, then I will always, for life, will have to use it. I guess sooner rather than later, and no matter how much diet I will do, I will develop type 2 diabetes, because of the age and of the genetic tendency. But at the moment diet and exercise are enough for me.

Thanks for liking my recipes!
