Misc.
I am new to the site--just found it before Christmas and having so much fun here. I think it is wonderful!
I am a farm wife, we farm 2,000 acres of corn and soybeans--you might say we are the food source. Last harvest we sold our corn crop to Kellogg's. We live in the middle of a large Amish community--they drive horse and buggy and have no electricity so do their cooking on wood stoves.
I say I am a pretty fair country cook. Grow my own fruit and veggies, make my own bread and have an extensive herb garden. Give talks on growing and cooking with herbs, making herb blends, vinegars, oils etc.
Haven't studied cooking other than a few classes I take when visiting my Twin in New Orleans.
Have won a few local cooking contests and like to think I make the best apple pie in the County.
Really appreciate having a place like this to come to learn and share.
