Here's the ANZAC recipe I use; it's an old one, from a cookbook called Terrace Tested Recipes, published in 1927.

4oz / 100g / 1/2 cup butter
1 Tablespoons golden syrup
2 Tablespoons boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup coconut (use shredded unsweetened)
1 cup rolled oats
optional: almonds, finely chopped

Melt butter and golden syrup together. Remove from heat. Add baking soda dissolved in boiling water and mix well. Add flour, sugar, coconut, oats and almonds (if using). Mix well to combine. Place in teaspoon quantities on a cold, greased baking tray and bake at 180C/350F for 15-20 mins. Leave on tray to harden for a few minutes before removing, but don't leave them too long! A knife slipped under each biscuit will remove them easily.
