Recipe: Strawberry Crisp (using oats and walnuts)

STRAWBERRY CRISP

1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
3 cups sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup white granulated sugar (or to taste)
Whipped cream (for serving)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter an 8-inch square baking pan.

Mix together oatmeal, flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter
or margarine until crumbly. Add nuts.

In another bowl, mix strawberries and white sugar together.

Spread half the crumb mixture on bottom of the prepared pan. Cover with strawberries. Spread remaining crumb mixture over top.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.

Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.

Makes 6 servings
