Recipe: Banana-Fudge Walnut Brownies

BANANA-FUDGE WALNUT BROWNIES

1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup mashed ripe banana (about 1 small)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom ONLY of 8-inch square pan.

Melt in butter and chocolate chips in a 2-quart saucepan, over low heat, stirring constantly. Beat the remaining ingredients in thoroughly with spoon. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.

Bake about 30 minutes or until center is set. Cut into 2-inch squares.

Makes 16 servings
