Recipe: Banana Split Cake (using crushed vanilla wafers)

BANANA SPLIT CAKE

1 (12 oz.) box vanilla wafers, crushed
3/4 cup melted butter or margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup softened butter or margarine
Egg Beaters (pasteurized egg product) to equal 2 eggs
5 sliced bananas
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 (13 oz.) carton Cool Whip, thawed
1 cup chopped nuts
Maraschino cherry halves

Combine crushed vanilla wafers and melted butter. Mix well and press into bottom and sides of a 9x13x2 inch pan.

Combine powdered sugar, softened butter and eggs. Beat on high speed of electric mixer 15 minutes. Do not under beat.

Spread sugar mixture over crust and top with bananas; then cover with pineapple. Spread whipped topping next; sprinkle with nuts. Garnish with cherries. Chill thoroughly.

Cut into squares to serve. Keep refrigerated.
