BAR-B-BARN RIBS
"Bar-B-Barn ribs are a Montreal favorite."
2 lb parboiled ribs
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a heavy saucepan, mix brown sugar, applesauce, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon, salt and pepper,. Over medium-high heat, bring the sauce to the boiling point and continue boiling for one to two minutes.
Place parboiled ribs in an ovenproof dish and brush liberally with the sauce.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F. Turn ribs and bush underside with remaining sauce. Continue baking for 45 minutes.
